The God of More

I have often said that we have a Big, Big God! He has done things in my life that could only be done by a Big, Big God! Lately He has been showing me glimpses of Himself that prove to me that He is so much bigger and so much more than I could have ever imagined Him to be.

I am learning that He is like a glacier. What we see of Him above the surface is breathtakingly amazing and beautiful. There is so much more that we cannot see, however, more than human words cannot describe.

He is answering prayers that I have prayed for 17 years in the life of my youngest son, Bradley. Then, He keeps doing more and more there. I have experienced many miracles in my life, but what He is doing in Bradley’s life is the greatest miracle I have ever personally experienced. The story is too long to share here, but one day I am going to write that book. I am blown away by God’s faithfulness, by God’s love.

We had our Grace In The Wilderness Empowered Jesus Girl Teen Conference last Friday night. Wow! We prayed and prayed. We made plans, but He did more. It was a night of incredible worship, and His presence filled the church. Hearts were touched. Lives were changed. 16 girls made decisions for Christ. Again, I am blown away by His faithfulness, by His love. He has the ability to take what we offer to Him, no matter how small, to breath life into it, to make it more. And He does it so beautifully, in ways that you know it can only be Him.

He is the God of MORE. Here is what the Bible tells us about God.

He is Spirit. His nature is not flesh and blood.

God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

He is Light. His glory and majesty surpasses all others.

This is the message we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).

He is like a fire. The analogy of fire refers to the holiness and absolute righteousness of God’s nature. 

For our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). 

He is Love. He is gracious, kind and merciful beyond any level man can ever attain.

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him (1 John 4:16).

Perhaps Paul describes God’s love best in His writings to the Church of Ephesus.

Ephesians 3:17-21 …I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

There is nothing too big or too hard for God. Never give up on God, and never give up on people. He can, and He does answer prayer. He has proven this time and time again in my life, and I am sure in your life too.

If you have a need, pray and give it to the God of More.  He can do above all that you could ever imagine, in His time and in His way. You can trust Him.

Dear Lord: Thank You for Your great faithfulness and love for us in that, while we were sinners, You sent Your Son Jesus to die for us. We praise You for who You are. Help us to always trust You with the needs of our hearts. You are the God of More who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or think. You do that every day for Your children. And because of that, we should long to give you more. Lead us in the paths You would have us to go. Thank You for answering our prayers. Amen

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.  Psalm 147:5
