Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
I have a confession to make. Quite some time ago, God called me to start a blog.
I could offer you a lot of excuses why it has not happened until now. Business challenges. Health challenges. Parenting challenges. Caregiving challenges. Life challenges. Time Management challenges. Wilderness challenges.
The truth is life is one big, fat, overwhelming challenge. Period. But, then again, I am not telling you anything that you don’t already know.
It is not that I have not been obedient exactly. I have been busy. I have spent a lot of time getting ready to get ready. I have finally discovered two things:
-that I will never start unless getting started becomes more important than getting ready.
-that the best way to get something done is to begin.
Most importantly, even at the risk of failing, I absolutely owe it to God to do what He asks me to do. He has been more than faithful to me always and I want to be faithful to Him. God has promised that He will even make a way in the wilderness, and He has definitely done that in my life. So it is time for me to make a way for Him in my life and step out with this new thing He is calling me to.
So here goes …
Welcome to my new blog! Take a look around and check out the other pages. I plan to blog weekly and I hope you will join in with comments and discussions. To receive the blog via email, please register to the right of the page. I am looking so forward to having you here. Welcome!
Now …
What about you? Is God calling you to do a new thing in 2016?
I would love to hear from you in comments below.
Dear Lord: As a new year begins, help us to step out in new resolve for You. May we never forget that you even make a way for us in the wilderness and that Your grace is sufficient always. Amen
Sharon, this is such a God thing! I, too, have felt God leading me to pursue my speaking and/or starting a blog for 2016. However, I feel overwhelmed by the challenge that places before me as I continue to work full time. Thanks for showing that it can be done…we just have to have the faith to step out to His plan of action!
That is awesome, Cathy W! It is so neat to see God work, isn’t it? I cannot wait to see what God does with your speaking and blogging in the months ahead.
Oh how right you are, my friend. We can spend the rest of our lives TRYING to “get ready” OR we can simply “DO”!
How am I going to spend this spanking New Year that God has given me?
1. I am going to put God first
2. I am going to STOP trying and do more DOING
3. I am going to praise Him every day and just not on my tough days
4. I am going to shine my Light all over this world!
Thanks for this new Blog … I know you are going to continue to be such an encouragement to so, so, so many women!!!
You go, Cathy! I love your to-do list for 2016! Thanks for your encouragement!
Congratulations on your new journey of your blog. I’ll be reading and praying for you! Love you!
Thank you, Joyce! Your prayers and encouragement mean a great deal to me. May God bless you in 2016!
I’m so happy for you Sharon. Good for you! I write and I have had something published, just an article in the SC Business Journal but still it was a start. I have been trying to write a book for years now but since I lost my son it just has not happened. Pray for me. So proud of you Sharon.
Dawn, I am so very sorry for the loss of your son. I will certainly pray for you. As you may know, we have a GITW support group for moms who have lost children that has a private facebook page and meets every two months. It is called Grace Girls. As a matter of fact, the group is meeting tomorrow night in Easley. Please feel free to call me at 864 380-2358 or email me at sharon@wildernessgrace.org if you would like more information about the group. It is a very sweet, intimate group and I know that they would love to welcome you as a part.
Also, I didn’t know you write. I would love for you to write an article for our Grace In The Wilderness Newsletter any time if you might be interested. Please feel free to email or phone me.
Thank you so much for the encouragement about my blog. I am so glad to connect with you here.
Love and prayers, Sharon
